The World Heritage Shrines and Temples of Nikko
Free Guided Tour

We offer free guided tours for foreign tourists who wish to explore the World Heritage area.
This tour will show you the highlights of Nikko's shrines and temples in one hour.
Local guides who know Nikko well will guide you with all their hearts. We look forward to seeing you in Nikko!

*The tour DOES NOT INCLUDE visits to the inside of temples and shrines.

Dates:
1) Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday in April, May, June, October, and November, 2026
*Guided tours are not available on April 2, October 1, and October 3 due to other events.
2) February 5 to 14, 2027

Reception Location:
1) Shiunkaku Hall (near Sanbutsudo Hall at Rinnoji Temple) *Address: 2300 Sannai, Nikko, Tochigi
2) Near the ticket gate in TOBU Nikko Station

Reception Hours:
1) 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM *Please note that reception may close early depending on guide availability.
2) 10:00 AM to 10:30 AM *The tour is held once a day.

Tour Duration:
1) About 1 hour
2) About 1 hour and 30 minutes

How to Join:
We don't take reservations, so please come to the reception desk on the day if you'd like to join a tour!
Reservations are not available for this tour. Tours depart as soon as participants have gathered, so arriving around 10:00 will usually allow you to join the first tour without waiting.

Notes:
Participation in the tour is free of charge. However, for the Winter Tour, a bus fare of 220 yen between the station and Shinkyo is required.
Donations are welcome from guests who wish to support the continuation of the tour.
